I suggested the book to my local library, Kent District Library, in Michigan and they have ordered it. Does that count as a pre-order? When it comes in I will be the first to check it out. I can’t wait.
I bow in honor of you staying true to that little boy’s dream. Wishing you all the joy and love your heart can hold at this momentous time in your journey.
So wish your travels included Colorado. To tide me over until the release of Liturgies of the Wild, just finished re-listening to Bardskull, (which may become an annual tradition).
I am on a book buying ban for the month of January as I have a habit of acquiring too many books for my poor shelves to handle. I'm planning to break my fast promptly on February first and can't wait to feast with Liturgies of the Wild soon after that!
I am a new subscriber to the substack, less than a week. I've been trying not to consume too much you quickly, which has been a challenge. I recently moved to the city, and your stories have been a wonderful little taste of the wild in this concrete desert I'm now contending with.
Cheers, and I look forward to reading the new book!
When I first opened this I pulled a chew stick out of Mr Dog’s throat. He’d eaten it down to a six inch nub. Godspeed with your travels to the Chicago area—all three nights take a kind of Chicago driving I am no longer up to, though I’d very much like to support you, my friend. You’re welcome to take a side trip to our farm about 90 minutes away. (LOL!) Hope your book makes bestseller lists and your wisdom lifts many people towards the Lord. Thank you for your healing stories and good words!
Dear Katie, I just sat in the middle of a coastal storm in a local restaurant and received your gift. Thank you. I LOVE it. Had a Negroni and took in the picture.
So excited for you, this is huge! I cannot wait to get my pre-ordered copy and am praying this book reaches far and wide (I know it will). What a precious, imaginative child you were, and seeing all your hard work and boyhood dream come to fruition must be so lovely.
Can't wait to hit the road to join you at The Graduate! Car's been serviced, and she's having her mettle tested in these sub-zero temps we've been having here in Detroit lately. No sweat. Glad to hear you have a tremendous overcoat to keep you warm. Blessed travels to you...see you soon!
I'm clearly more set in my routine than I thought - wait, what? There's no Sunday morning substack to eagerly open tomorrow? Heehee, I jest ofcourse. Martin, I'm so excited for you! Hope the tour is a massive success and may your book reach every reader it deserves. Safe travels dear friend. Bon voyage!
Hello Martin! Long-time lurker, first-time commenter. I’ve been slinking with the beasts among the vines since last spring. You’ve been my guide (via Smokehole and Wolf Milk) into wilderness vigil and I’ve been trying to understand and integrate the experience of those 4 days ever since. Mostly working my way from your earliest stack writing forward. I preordered Liturgies as soon as I heard about it. It will come my way around my 50th birthday! Looking so forward to that gift. When are you heading back to Ontario, Canada! It seems you were here a few years ago, an hour away in Perth, but I was unaware I needed to be there!
Thank you Martin, just ordered it! I hope you make it back to Maine one day. God bless you on your journey. I feel like you are walking a tight rope and there's music playing :)
You are driving the Pleiades (subaru), Martin. May Liturgies of the Wild shine in the dark and be beheld all over the planet! I'm afraid my purchase might not be counted as I made a strategic mistake of pre-ordering it with Amazon Japan. Looking forward to the audio and ebook versions in ten days for now. Onwards!

I LOVE libraries. Love, love, love. Good man.
Crazy that you’re speaking on my old street in Evanston. Wish you were coming to Maine though!
At least I arrive at Portland loose as a goose for three nights.
Me too!
Me three!

Ah, thanks Megan. And to your kiddie too.

Bless you Joseph.
Thank you, Martin!
And traveling mercies upon you! Hurrah!
Amen, thank you Carey.

Big, big smile! I am so very pleased! Glad you love it!
That is a photo for the ages. See you in Munster, Indiana!
LMAO as my “kids” love to text! Thou art indeed “caught up” young bard. 🤪 until soon…Pádraig
Oh yes, of course I ordered the audio as well that I might just follow along 👍🏽😉
You are a hero in the midst of all this madness.
Only by grace… 😉
