Good morning friends,
Whiling away the many hours at basecamp recently, I read out loud the first couple of chapters of The Way of A Pilgrim, one of my very favourite books. This 19th century Orthodox classic is a deep, rambling tale of a young seeker caught up with Paul’s idea of praying without ceasing. I am very in love with it. I think I have three such recordings from the fireside I can add here. I’d likely read the whole book but surely would get carted off to copyright prison for three million years. A shame though, as I’m just trying to point folks towards this beauteous book.

Other news: I’m delighted to say that Bardskull has just been released in the US. It can be found at: Bardskull.
I’m deep in relearning The Odyssey – something I’ll no doubt write about in coming weeks. I also have a rather wonderful story-treat coming to take us through to Christmas – rather like I did with Gawain last autumn. I’ll announce it in the next few weeks. It’s good to have a big story throughout autumn.
Anyway, let’s pack our small bag with crusts, fill our mind with prayer and head out into the ancient forests of Old Russia.
