Hello parish, onto the main dish.
I love the old fairy story Fenist Bright Falcon which I have for you here as a recorded telling. The notes below are a little sketchy but are the associative type I take when I’m bringing a story into myself. They will make no sense without listening to the story first! I’m back from giving my Temenos Academy lecture – A Defence of Romantic Love – earlier this week (and seeing a few of you there). I’ll have a recording of the lecture for you in the next few weeks.
Good cheer,
Martin
Notes on Fenist Bright Falcon
There’s a part of us not content with the gifts from life’s fair. The dresses and handkerchiefs. We could be sixty by the time we realise we’re done with it, but we’re done. We could have lived the ambitions of the older two sisters several times over by the time we get there, but get there we do. We want that rare little flower. The pearl of great price.
