Christ, Creation, and the Cave: Seeking the Bush Soul of Christianity
How can we understand the deep symbolism of the Christian story? What do the lives of the saints and the tales woven around them have to say to us today? Can the ancient roots of the faith, in Ireland and beyond, be rediscovered in a world desperate for spiritual truth? How should we live that truth?
On Saturday 3rd June, Dublin will play host to a memorable conference on myth, symbolism, and the Christian story in the 21st century. Jonathan Pageau, Paul Kingsnorth and Martin Shaw will come together to introduce a different Christian vocabulary, regale an audience with Christian wonder tales, and to lay out a vision that goes beyond the confines of modernity or cosy nostalgia.
Navigating the Mysteries
A brand new day course (attendance only) led by Dr Martin Shaw will focus on apocalyptic story in the face of uncertainty, exploring how to re-find our relationship with the earth. Through shamanistic, Christian and philosophical sources, this course will explore how we move from living with uncertainty to navigating the mysteries.
Martin will be telling and exploring Siberian, Irish and British folktales and myth.
Saturday 25th March, 10am-4pm, Dartington, Devon.

How I wish I could join you. These events sound wonderful. I came across you and Paul a couple of years ago in my YouTube feed and was immediately enchanted with you both. I thought, these men should be Christians! 😁 And I started praying for you. I soon found out that Jesus had revealed himself to Paul and I was thrilled. I had to pray but a little longer for you but soon heard your beautiful sharing of God’s revelation in your life. You’re such a beautiful soul and I’m so happy for you and happy to be able to call you brother.
I also enjoy listening to Jonathan so to see you all three come together is fabulous! I’ll be praying for your event. Be blessed. 😁🌳💫

The Process—
At some point in our lives we just have to be content with who we are. Oh not necessarily satisfied, but willing to accept our imperfections and allow them to draw us closer to God. Surrender and submission to The Process is the way to further growth and transformation into our fullness. In this way, The Process is another name for the Lover of our soul, another name for God—Dynamic Creator.
I’ve come to know in this golden season, this deeper second half of life, that my imperfections do indeed keep me longing for and closer to God. While I may still “bristle” at criticism, I’m better at considering it as a tool for reflection and further growth. I am fortunate to have an anam cara who speaks truth to me in unconditional love…the very voice of God in a human being in my own life.
The Journey we’re all on together (some walking better than others) is indeed a process that ultimately leads to the fullness of our humanity and our true Home in the Relationship at the Center of All—Divine LOVE. When we realize that we are each a story within the One Great Story, we will become better tellers and listeners…better traveling companions.
Now some will say “Oh there goes the moose again blowin smoke!” But I’m reminded that blowing smoke through the “smoke hole” is another form of prayer. In that sense storytelling is prayer…In telling and listening we come face to face with ourselves and hopefully see the Divine reflected in the mirror.
